12 Instrumentals now....these I guess range from the 20's 30's 40's & 50's a real mixture..the first two tracks are not what I thought Argentinian music would be...more energy and fire I thought was needed still I guess that record was from the 20's...also great to hear Ted Heath before he fronted his own band...ending with a Classic Selection... All got to be heard to appreciated the different era's of bygone Music !!

In Argentina and Uruguay, the term orquesta típica is associated with tango music. The orquesta típica usually comprises a string section (three or four violins, and sometimes viola and cello), three or more bandoneons, and a rhythm section (piano and double bass). An orquesta típica is an expanded version of a sexteto típico, which includes 2 bandoneons, 2 violins, double bass and piano.

Anton and his Orchestra broadcasting from the Camden Theatre, London

Anton and his orchestra were regularly featured on the BBC Light Programme and Home Service for more than two decades. Anton (real name Arthur Sweeting) was working in theatres in the 1930s when he was advised to find himself a more imposing name - so Anton he became!
During the latter half of the thirties he was conductor of the Paramount Theatre orchestra in London's Tottenham Court Road, from where the orchestra gave weekly broadcasts as well as making many records for HMV, often accompanied by Al Bollington on the cinema organ. The orchestra consisted of strings, woodwind, accordion, piano and percussion and was almost a who's who of the light music profession as it consisted of top session players.
